Mover reassembling a bed frame after a move in Montreal

Furniture Assembly & Disassembly

Furniture Assembly & Disassembly Montreal

Some furniture has to come apart to clear a staircase or doorway safely — and go back together the right way at the other end. As part of your move, UnBox disassembles beds, tables and shelving, keeps the hardware labelled by piece, and reassembles everything at the new place so your first night is set up.

Furniture Assembly & Disassembly Services in Montreal

The furniture that causes the most trouble on moving day is the furniture that has to come apart first. We take down the pieces that won't clear the access and rebuild them at the new place.

Beds & Bed Frames

Headboards, frames and platform beds taken down and rebuilt so they clear stairs and doorways.

Tables & Desks

Legs and leaves off for transit, then reassembled and levelled at the destination.

Shelving & Wardrobes

Tall or modular units broken down so they move safely and go back together square.

Flat-Pack Furniture

Flat-pack pieces disassembled and reassembled as part of your move, with hardware kept labelled.

Local know-how

Built for Montreal Access

In Montreal's older triplexes and walk-ups, a bed frame or a wide table often simply won't make the turn on a spiral staircase or through a narrow doorway. Taking it apart is what protects the furniture and the walls. We label every fastener by piece so nothing goes missing, keep the parts protected in transit, and rebuild everything at the new place so it's ready to use — not left in a pile.

Pricing

Assembly & Disassembly Pricing in Montreal

Assembly and disassembly are part of the hourly time on site rather than a separate flat fee. What it adds depends on how many pieces need taking apart and rebuilding, how complex they are, and the access at each end. Flag the pieces when you request your quote and the estimate will account for them up front.

FAQ

Common questions

What furniture do you take apart and put back together?

Beds and bed frames, tables and desks, and shelving or modular units — the pieces that usually have to come apart to clear stairs, doorways and elevators. Tell us what you have and we'll plan for it.

Do you reassemble flat-pack furniture?

Yes, for flat-pack pieces we disassembled during your move. Assembling brand-new, still-boxed furniture can be quoted separately on request.

Can you assemble any furniture brand or system?

We handle common beds, tables and shelving well. Very specialised or built-in systems aren't guaranteed — describe the piece and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a fit.

How do you keep track of the screws and hardware?

Hardware goes into labelled bags per item, so nothing is missing and reassembly is quick at the new place.

Do I need to provide tools?

No — the crew brings the tools and basic hardware for standard disassembly and reassembly. If a piece uses an unusual fitting, it helps to have its own manual or parts handy.

Is assembly part of the moving rate?

It's part of the hourly time on site; the estimate accounts for it when you flag the pieces that need taking apart and rebuilding.

Can you disassemble furniture that won't fit through a doorway?

Yes — that's exactly when disassembly matters. We take the piece down to what clears the access, then rebuild it on the other side.

What should I share when requesting a quote?

List the pieces that need disassembly and reassembly, roughly how big they are, and the stairs or doorways involved at both addresses. That lets us plan the time accurately.
